Logistics Specialist

As we scale from research and development to full-scale manufacturing, we are looking for an experienced Logistics Specialist to oversee and manage all inbound and outbound shipments for our global supply chain. This role will be responsible for negotiating shipping methods, establishing shipping lanes for U.S. imports, and ensuring compliance with international trade regulations.

The Logistics Specialist will work closely with suppliers, freight forwarders, and internal teams to optimize logistics operations while ensuring cost efficiency and timely deliveries. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of U.S. import/export documentation, trade regulations, and Incoterms, as well as experience with Asia-Pacific, North American, and international trade agreements.

Key Responsibilities:

Inbound & Outbound Logistics Management

• Manage all inbound and outbound shipments, ensuring smooth and efficient logistics operations.

• Plan and coordinate air, sea, and ground transportation for raw materials and finished goods.

• Negotiate shipping rates, contracts, and service agreements with carriers, freight forwarders, and customs brokers.

• Establish and optimize shipping lanes for imports into the U.S., ensuring compliance with trade regulations.

• Monitor shipment tracking, customs clearance, and on-time delivery to prevent delays.

Trade Compliance & Documentation

• Ensure all U.S. import and export documentation (including commercial invoices, packing lists, and bills of lading) are accurate and compliant with regulations.

• Manage import duties, tariffs, and tax compliance for shipments entering the U.S.

• Oversee Incoterms compliance, ensuring proper use for international trade transactions.

• Maintain knowledge of U.S.-Mexico-Canada Agreement (USMCA), free trade agreements (FTAs), and Asia-Pacific export regulations.

• Work with legal and finance teams to ensure all trade compliance, customs, and taxation requirements are met.

Freight & Transportation Management

• Manage trucking and transportation arrangements, including scheduling, route optimization, and delivery coordination.

• Develop and maintain relationships with logistics providers to ensure cost-effective and reliable transport options.

• Implement logistics performance metrics, tracking cost, service level, and efficiency improvements.

Process Optimization & Risk Management

• Develop and implement logistics strategies that reduce costs and improve delivery efficiency.

• Identify potential supply chain disruptions and develop contingency plans.

• Stay up to date on global trade policies, tariffs, and shipping regulations to mitigate risks and optimize logistics planning.
