Targeted start date: Immediately.

Since its founding in 2015, 1X has been at the forefront of developing advanced humanoid robots designed for household use. Our mission is to create an abundant supply of labor via safe, intelligent humanoids.

We strive for excellence in all we do, solving some of the hardest problems in robotics with the world’s most talented individuals. Every part of our robots is designed and produced in-house—from motor coils to AI—reflecting our vertically integrated approach. At 1X, you’ll own real projects, be recognized for your achievements, and rewarded based on merit.

We believe the best work is done when collaborating and therefore require in-person presence in our office locations.

As we scale from research and development to full-scale manufacturing, we are looking for a Robot Operators Lead to guide and support the team of Robot Operators during each shift, ensuring efficient workflows and constant data collection. The Robot Operators Lead plays a critical role in the success of each shift, acting as the go-to person for Robot Operators and ensuring smooth operations. While this is an hourly role, it carries supervisory responsibilities, including enabling all operators to maintain productivity and ensuring that data collection processes are followed consistently. The ideal candidate will be proactive, organized, and able to solve problems on the fly, while fostering collaboration and high performance among their team.

REQUIREMENTS
  • Lead and coordinate the Robot Operators on your shift, ensuring all team members are productive and collecting data as required.

  • Act as the first point of contact for operators during the shift, addressing questions, resolving minor issues, and escalating more complex problems to the Robot Operators Supervisor.

  • Monitor and ensure adherence to data collection protocols and procedures, maintaining high-quality standards.

  • Facilitate shift handovers by providing updates on ongoing tasks, challenges, and completed activities.

  • Conduct regular checks to ensure that all operators have the tools and resources needed to perform their duties efficiently.

  • Assist in training and onboarding new operators, helping them to quickly become productive members of the team.

  • Maintain accurate records of shift performance, including data collected and any issues encountered, for reporting purposes.

  • Support operational goals by identifying and suggesting process improvements to the Robot Operators Supervisor.

  • Adhere to and enforce safety and operational standards to ensure a secure work environment for all team members.

  • Flexibility to work various shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays, as required.

Qualifications:

  • Prior experience in a leadership or team coordination role, preferably in operations, logistics, or a similar environment.
  • Strong organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities during a shift.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to provide clear instructions and foster teamwork.
  • Proactive problem-solving skills and the ability to make quick decisions to maintain operational flow.
  • Attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high-quality standards.
  • Dependable and flexible, with a willingness to work nights, weekends, and holidays as part of a shift rotation.
  • High school diploma or equivalent; additional training or certifications in operations or leadership are a plus.

We seek the world's most talented individuals with a passion for inventing and building a more prosperous future. At 1X you'll get to own real projects and be rewarded for your achievements and output. We hire, recognize and reward based on merit. We believe the best work is done when collaborating and therefore require in-person presence.
